A Blueprint for a Utopian Tech Society – Thoughts?

I’ve been working on a framework for a hypothetical utopian society powered by technology, covering governance, economy, sustainability, and more. The goal is to explore how we could leverage AI, automation, and decentralized systems to create an equitable, post-scarcity future.

I’d love your thoughts!

I’m an amateur futurist, so be gentle!

JohnFen•7mo ago
If a utopian society were possible (I certainly don't think that it is), it won't come about because of technology. The barrier isn't, and never has been, tech. It's because of the nature of people themselves -- starting with the fact that we aren't all on the same page as to what a utopia would look like. One person's utopia is another's dystopia.
AnimalMuppet•7mo ago
Not just this. For some people, "utopia" is where they have all the power, and get to tell everyone else what to do. For others, utopia is where they have more than others do, either possessions or power or both. You cannot make a utopia for those people without making a dystopia for everyone else.

And you cannot make a utopia with those people in it without them actively trying to sabotage it, to convert it into their version of utopia. So to make a real utopia worthy of the name, you need to fix people - the people you start with, and then the new people like that that arise as time goes by.

tonglu•7mo ago
Currently, yes, that is hard with the people at the start - I did think of that!

That's why one of the very first step on my excel sheet is to increase everyone's intelligence & emotional understanding of one another - we all can then collectively contribute to the utopia we all want - some want cottagecore places, others countryside, others solarpunk etc

The start will be the slowest...?
