I had a friend who "discovered" that if you translate the digits into musical notes (a bit of overlap, of course), then the digits of pi produced agreeable music. He sincerely thought this was deep, man!
I, a non-musician, tried to point out that the C-major scale was generally considered pleasant to listen to, and all he did was randomize various C-chords, pulled apart. He wouldn't hear of it.
