This is the open source dream. It sounds amazing even if a lot of responsibility and hard work. All of this consistent effort makes sense of why Curl is considered exemplary in so many respects.

One thing that strikes me is how broad Daniel's skill set has to be to cover all those bases and be involved in everything. Is this maybe why there have been relatively few others who have had long-term success as open source professionals?
