Ask HN: As an app developer, how can you generate passive income?

2•ppkkK•6mo ago
As a developer,i am facing issues like:

1. Ads disrupting immersive gameplay, leading to poor retention and user feedback

2. Low in-app purchase conversion rates that only capture a small portion of users

3. Subscription models that are hard to scale globally and may cause user churn A fellow developer recommended PacketSDK to me: [https://www.packetsdk.com/?utm-source=PjPm64ou] It's a free monetization tool that pays based on user active time — no ads, no disruption to the user experience. Sounds perfect for apps that focus on user engagement and retention.

Anyone here thinking of giving it a try? Want to test it together?

The secret to passive income is doing nothing.
ksaj•6mo ago
You might be joking, but you're not entirely wrong, either. Doing nothing means not spending. During that post-2008 angsty period of money just starting to roll in again, I "bought on the low" instead of going out every weekend.

People accuse Trump of manipulating the market right now. There is no reason people can't take advantage of it. He puts everyone in a tight bind... buy. Because then he changes his mind and the stocks he nearly damaged spring back to life and you make some money along with his cronies.

That sounds a bit simple on its own. But pay attention to what happened each time he did it. The first time was a surprise. The second time came with an alert. Now we're in the middle of his third manipulation this year. When we get close to the tariff deadline, he'll backtrack again, and bang, money is made. If not, hold, because it will when he finally does move.

(Having said that, buying copper is a bad idea right now, since he just moved and made that spike very recently)

So spend a month or three of bad habit money on the market, and let it grow. Turn that into a habit. It won't help you immediately, but it sure will later.

If you're an app owner, a router developer, or someone who manages a large number of IPs, I recommend giving PacketSDK a try. Realistic Revenue Example: An app with 10,000 daily active users in the U.S. could generate up to $6,000 per month in additional income. You can try it using this link:https://www.packetsdk.com/?utm-source=PjPm64ou
