The Future Feels Boring

3•ATiredGoat•3h ago
Everything feels so blah lately. When you really stop to think about it, even the world of technology feels stagnant and uninspired. AI sparks endless debate, yet as a tool, it still feels lightyears away from being truly useful. And gaming? It's become dull, predictable, and hollow. Some days, I feel like a wanderer in the world of Blade Runner, drifting through neon shadows, just trying to find something, anything genuine, something that still feels alive.

I think humanity might be on the verge of a physics breakthrough that might let us visit other planets in minutes... for now we're just waiting.

I think a lot about how technology is more interesting when it’s becoming rather than “is”. I think that’s a big part of 80’s nostalgia and the early internet. It was really exciting when you had to fill in the gaps with your imagination and every year something new was happening.

I think about a lot of the experimental phone designs that came out. Most were objectively crap but it seemed so cool to see the new things people were trying.
