Ask HN: Where Do Hacker News Readers Come From?

3•nicgrev103•6mo ago
I took a look at similarwebs data on the geographic locations of Hacker News visitors. Thought some of you might find it interesting too. Here’s the breakdown of where readers came from, by country:

United States – 49.17%

China – 6.75%

United Kingdom – 5.96%

India – 5.29%

Canada – 3.97%

If anyone has more detailed information I'd love to see it. I wonder if posters are equally represented? I was surprise to see no EU countries, perhaps a language thing?

Also interested to see if anyone comments from somewhere really remote.

From a blog that has mostly HN trafic, I get

USA + Canada: 50%

Europe: 20%

India: 5%

Singapur: 5%

Latin America: 10%

Others: 10%

The total from Europe includes many countries, not only UK.

Latin America may be over-represented, hi from Argentina!.

I'm confused about Singapur.
