tags like this help users who read/access with apps that have heavy lift issues over certain filetypes/formats

If using a smartphone perhaps download PDFs and open in an offline (Netguard blocked) app designed for reading PDFs, e.g., Readera

you seem to get the idea already, some people send PDF to print, rather than open it for rendering, the tag helps a user make a choice and not be surpised by filetype.

some people are here on work machines, or metered data connections, and tags for "deeplinks" to files, really help.
