This threshold would appear to violate stock exchange requirements.

How has Tesla avoided behind delisted?

TheAlchemist•6h ago
Of all the things Musk does, this infuriates me the most - Tesla is in the S&P 500, which means that everybody's retirement money (US or not), is directly or indirectly invested in it, whether we like it or not.

I'm 100% persuaded his empire is a house of cards and the emperor has no clothes. It will be a bigger scandal than Enron once it unravels. And yet, I have no choice to participate in it, despite his blatant disregard for any securities and other law applicable.

I believe this was always the plan. Pump the TSLA value up with ideas that create the valuation (robotaxi, etc). Get into an index. Investment pours in on autopilot from everyone investing via their contributions while Musk and his accomplices (the board) siphon the value out via liquidating overinflated TSLA shares. Get rich before the rug pull when sentiment turns.

I have been wondering if there is a market for an ETF that gives you S&P exposure without the TSLA exposure.
