I was taught that The Law of Supply and Demand remained the best way to maximize market efficiency for all concerned. Doesn't this upend assumptions in The Law about prices? Are we about to abandon the invisible hand of the marketplace? If so, why? Free market economics has been held up as a shining example of providing better standards of living for the last 200 years.
