Who Hates YouTube?

3•thoth001•6mo ago
This platform just has one way in and its down.

The interface sucks. You open the app and boom there is one ad. When you open a video, boom 2 other ads. Then you scroll to see the comments, another ad. They are forcing the short format videos and when you search for anything now all you got is this thing. If i wanted to watch 30s videos I woudn't be on youtube, I would be on other platform.

Who more else agrees? Leve on the comments the things that irritates you the most on it, features that would with it add and how you would fix.

If you can't install adblockers on the device you paid for, it's not YouTube you should be angry at.

It is not hard to find out how to block ads. I see (very nearly) none.
LargoLasskhyfv•6mo ago
Don't use the app. Use a device which is able to usefully run a browser which can usefully run capable ad-blockers.

The app is crap . The device which can't run that browser and its plugin, too. At least for using yt.

I truly enjoy youtube.

My approach is Mac, Firefox private browsing, Ublock Origin, Cookie Autodelete, and never sign in to any Google account in same browser.

Start page is blank, no ads, no complaining about blocker, I see only what I search for, and auto content is related to purely associative relevance to my viewing.

Very pleasant with no doom hazard.

I guess that Google will eventually wreck this but by living as anonymously as possible, there's no business incentive to commandeer nobody's attention.

LargoLasskhyfv•6mo ago
Me too. Also not logged in. But I don't delete the cookie(s) of yt. Because then I'm not seeing what I watched(as workaround for not having any curation/history), and the suggestions for all sorts of stuff are crap.
