This is harsh on rest of the eng team at Windsurf. Agreed the founders who went to Google were good, but this is saying rest of the team is not good

I read this as hyperbole, not a literal statement. I interpreted this statement to mean "these people that work at Cognition are excellent and I'm exited to work with them."

Not really. Sounds more like “core engineering” is used as a separate term, similar to infra engineering vs product engineering
