Show HN: Surprise your friends – remote gifting alternative

https://bevup.app/
1•bulibas•6mo ago
It all started a few years ago a childhood friend of mine - Sissi - moved to Germany to study. She was also working to support her studies. We had a phone call and she sounded pretty down, so I wanted to make a small gift to put a quick smile on her face. I was considering standard remote gifting options - sending flowers, buying a digital voucher for X amount or even sending money with a "go out and grab a beer on me message" (turns out people do that). Non of those options had a personal touch, non of those was informal or a surprise.

Fast forward, I've build a platform for emotional and spontaneous gestures from a distance - like gifting your friend in New York a matcha latte or your friend in London a pint in a cool bar. Always something specific from the menu of the bar/cafe/restaurant - with a thought behind. Because drinks and food always tell a story.

It's called BEVUP. Not a social media, but a social tool and a new category of digital gifting.

We are still pretty early but an MVP app is live and we partner with some amazing venues in 18 countries. Mostly in Europe, in cities like Amsterdam, Paris, Prague, Lisbon, Liverpool and more. Not yet in the USA but we'd love to launch there

Would love to get some feedback on our concept, the platform and would love to hear about your use cases.

Cheers, Atanas
