Show HN: Imagine doing pushups to unlock your phone

https://timm.so/features/push-up-to-unlock
1•itsharveenatwal•6mo ago
I am so chronically on my phone that it's become a terrible habit.

First thing in the morning, I check my phone. During my commute, I'm on my phone. When I'm in between sets at the gym, I'm scrolling.

So I created an app blocker to help me reverse some of these adverse behaviors I built over a decade of phone dependence.

I needed powerful rules. So I built many including my favorite, which is a location blocker so i can block out my phone when i'm at work.

I added the pushup to unlock feature, because I thought it would be pretty cool to do something physical in the real world before I mindlessly consume 4 hours of doomscrolling content that I won't even remember the following day.

So that's what I wanted to share with you guys! Would love to hear what your thoughts are!

Before you say, "but, what if there's an emergency and I can't do pushups". The feature includes a "Skip" option that appears after 1 minute so you can still get to your phone!

Awesome! I just realized that there is no private messaging on here. So we will need to take this off platform. You can add me on discord (theharvsterr) or send me email at support@timm.so
