This doesn’t have a lot of information nor really expands on the superficial.

Where will the demand for those ads go? What will happen to people who still want to search?

Underestimating companies such as Google and even more Tesla always makes me laugh. Who in their right mind advocates shorting these great American cash cow companies. I'm willing to put my money where my mouth is, I predict $GOOG will be well above their current price of $192 within the next two years.

> If Google had more inspired leadership, it would accept the colossal revenue hit of replacing the search box on their home page with the Gemini chat interface.

That sounds like a bad idea. They are making the change gradually by adding AI responses. Seems safer and more friendly to existing users.

Also, Google has maybe the best AI in the world, plus a huge existing business. Why wouldn't it beat ChatGPT?

carlosjobim•6h ago
If you sell any goods or services online, you know very well that 90% of your paying customers still come from Google searches and not from ChatGPT or from social media.

Catering to search engines is still the best return on investment for any business, when it comes to digital presence. Not a god damned influencer or AI.

Put your money where your mouth is and show us your put options, then I might listen.

Not only are my AI chats more personal than my Google searches but with these false friends reporting this information back to Google's (and others') advertising engines, suggests to me that this will become a more accurate, more difficult to avoid and thus bigger business for Google.
