`I want to express my sincere gratitude to those who have left.`

they didn't leave. they were shown the door.

I can't speak for the why or the what, but here's the how: they laid off 9,000 emplyoees from their Redding location, first claiming it was due to AI, then claiming it was due to flattening "management structure," (despite only 17% of the layoffs being managers), while putting in 14,000 H1B applications for roles at the same location, averaging 80% of the salaries as the displaced.

Microsoft is happily displacing Americans for cheap labor they can pay less. That's the how of Microsoft.

Who is the intended audience for this PR drivel? Like seriously, nobody would take it seriously. Does he have to say this because of some compliance requirements? I an very puzzled…

> "Security and quality are non-negotiable."

Must be really getting out of hand if he's mentioning it as a higher priority than even his AI blitz. Well, bless Satya's heart. Somebody should clue him in that not dismantling the QA orgs would have helped with security and quality. Just sayin'.
