Is Community Launch Still an Effective Way to Launch a B2C Startup?

1•igwepraiseceo•6mo ago
I'm curious. I've heard about the types of launches but everything I have done seems not to be fruitful. Even the one that should have been the most effective (community launch) seems not to work, as Admins and Moderators of groups/communities won't allow you make even a mild talk about what you've built for the community members to benefit of.

What about "hand-recruiting?" It seems not to be a viable option for B2C, am I right? Because, cold messages on Twitter/X and other platforms are not even viewed nor replied to.

Please, what do you think is the best approach to launch a B2C product?

I'll be reading all your comments. Thanks.

Make a product that solves a burning need. Share it with friends and family. If it solves a real problem, it’ll spread.

My brother’s friend just did this. My brother forwarded it to me and our dad. I can’t wait for it to graduate from this private pre-alpha phase to share it with my own friends who need it —- and with some communities of people who I know have loved ones who need it.

And since I already have a known and trusted presence in those communities and have no personal stake in the product, the mods of the communities won’t object to my sharing it.

My brother’s friend doesn’t need to do that community outreach because his product’s rabid fans will do it for him without even being asked.

And if your product isn’t that compelling, you’re probably going to have a difficult time selling it anyway.
