Are the incentives and security issues with MCP surmountable?

It seems likely that once the hype has died down, companies will look at the security issues and business model issues and kill their MCP servers

Looked at this briefly and especially the lower level MCPs the code gives a very AI generated vibe. It also wraps a lot of APIs without actually exposing all of the features. Which is frustrating.

Amazon internally has this super nice description of all their APIs in a protocol neutral format called Smithy. I wonder if they would've gotten something nicer if they would've added JSONRpc support to smithy instead and then generated the code through there instead of this.
