I'm curious to see if any of the supposed security concerns over alternative stores actually come to fruition in any meaningful way. I'm skeptical that it will pose any real problems. Untrustworthy apps are already widely available on the official app stores, and the market share of the official app stores is likely to continue to dwarf the market of other stores, so those will continue to be the market places to target for any malicious apps.
