Show HN: Break in Motion – a macOS app that helps you use your standing desk

https://www.breakinmotion.com/
1•salunmarvin•3h ago
I built this small macOS app in my spare time to solve something that was bothering me.

I have a standing desk… but I wasn’t really using it. I’d get deep into work and forget to stand for hours — which led to back pain and fatigue.

I didn’t want a Pomodoro timer — I wanted something more gentle, that would nudge me to stand, help me build a better routine, and gradually increase my standing time like a habit-forming system.

So I made Break in Motion.

It’s a lightweight app that:

Lives in the menu bar

Reminds you to stand and move

Tracks your streaks and progress

Increases your standing time over time (like levels)

No bloated features. Just something that does the job well.

It’s free to try — would love any feedback from the HN community!

Thanks
