Starlink was successful from very early on and started bringing it's parent SpaceX ramen money from day one of the networks public availability. They have continued to improve the hardware and steadily grow their user base. Pull up to any truck rest stop off the Interstate 10 in the US and you will see hundreds of starlink terminals dotting the roofs of all the long haul truckers cabs. These truckers undoubtedly enjoy the better connectivity than cellular phones or dodgy WiFi, and are willing to pay the SpaceX premium prices for it. They are one of many captive audiences SpaceX capitalized off of. There's only one show in town. Amazon could poach customers from Starlink if it provided cheaper service and hardware, with competitive data speeds and up-time. Competition is always good for the consumer.
