Most immigrants and asylum seekers are explicitly trying to escape this type of violence, and would be happy to turn in or out gang activity north of the border. But by threatening the status of everyone, no one feels comfortable working with law enforcement, and law abiding immigrants will be the first to self deport.
Regardless, immigrants still perform less crime per capita than native-born Americans.
This is a larger problem where Americans do not know themselves outside of what they see on TV or read on the internet, and the extremes we are willing to jump to for perceived problems are only going to get more and more bizarre.
The BS at the border is nothing but a move to undermine the average American worker.
