Ask HN: Drowning in tech and content. How do you spot the next opportunity?

1•fwiech•6mo ago
There is more stuff in the world that anyone can use in a lifetime.

In the post-industrial world, so many things are created already. There is more content to consume than you'll ever have time for. There is so much written code, more you'll ever be able to read. And more software than you can ever use in a lifetime.

Everyone jumps onto the AI hype train rebuilding things that are already built. May it be the search for fully autonomous machines or the desperate attempt to fill the marketing void.

How do you move, adapt, advertise and find new business opportunities in this world?

use LLMs to digest information from the sources you are interested in and present it in summarized form. I am building something for this, would you like to test?

I think you've skipped ahead to chapter 4.

Chapter 1, Choose a job you love doing and you never work for a day in your life.

Chapter 2, Do what you love, and the money will follow.

Chapter 3, You will be become the person you decided to be.

It's not about the tech. Decide what you want to be and do. Then go do it. You're going out to be or do something or fundamentally you're trying to solve a problem for yourself and others.

The tech is what comes to you to solve the problem. It's not you going out to the tech.
