I often wonder as someone who loves America, why outsiders that become naturalized (Murdoch is Australian, Thiel is German, Musk is South African) are adamant to destroy much of what makes America great. Misinformation, or using the system to one's benefit (often greed) then shutting down doors behind you, seems to be opportunistic and defies what makes America great. It is a sad state of affairs. I also believe that our system is much weaker than many expect. I notice many users here just accept the status quo and then seek to justify it. The War on Vietnam and Iraq are but examples of how weak our system is, that lies could be used to justify committing atrocities and we are but to accept it. Just look at how easy it is today for foreign adversaries (particularly Israel) to call the shots in our own nation, getting our military to drop whatever they want, or silencing protests within our schools. They are starving a civilian population and enjoy our hard earned taxes, because a few billionaires regard it as their homeland out of deep Jewish religiosity. You may regard that misinformation becoming the norm is just the free market at play, and should it find success for our people's entertainment, then so be it. But I would argue the founding fathers in particular, rejected these notions. It would be much easier to have accepted the terms of the British, and for one to resume one's life and mind their own business a la Libertarian. How quickly civilizations fall when that is accepted. Let us not forget that the Greeks, and the Romans, once built and commanded empires. I very much in light of many recent events dread what is happening, and Murdoch's misinformation empire expanding is but a small symptom.

You don't think the other side (MSM) spews disinformation?

Some could argue that the NYP was one of the sanest places for legitimate and real information since Covid.

They were censored for the Hunter Biden laptop story even though it was true.... so which side is truly about freedom of press and which side isn't?
