By default in Sequoia you’re not getting true Retina. You’re not getting what the hardware is capable of. Even the advanced options with many resolutions revealed don't offer this. BetterDisplay comes close.
In BetterDisplay yes you can choose the Retina enabled modes (Use Display Placer to see the scaled options in terminal with it active, that’s Retina). But because of the way BetterDisplay renders options, for the trained eye there may be a noticeable thinly veiled beam/overlay that’s not actually native. It just, feels a bit off. I believe EasyRes was once capable of this, but can't find it anywhere.
Are there any other options?
