Ask HN: What teckstack should I use as a noob?

1•Qualitywolf2•3h ago
Hi, I am a noob webdeveloper (only 2 projects behind my back). Question: I want to make a new "directory" site about a given niche with some new-wave visualizations (e.g. charts to visualize data), what techstack should I use in the era of AI assistants, IDEs, and easy-to-use Postgre providers? Also, do I always need a langin page (with a Hero), or should get to the point immediatelly? Thanks, Ben

Landing page or not depends on what you are trying to do. If you are trying to gather an email list for some future product or something like that, it might be a good idea with a landing page. Otherwise not, I'd say.

Pick something simple. Maybe you don't even need a database, if you can generate the visualisations offline and just upload the results to the website.
