Completely valid point.
I have no illusions about BlueSky or literally any site on the internet where I participate. But I post on a few anyway. I suppose because I just don't feel as betrayed as apparently the author does.
It's not my "energies" I am expending — or rather instead I am getting "exercise". Posting has proven to be useful to my own desire to clarify my thoughts and allows me to stay in the game of writing my thoughts out. My wife likes Wordle in the morning, I like reading and posting.
If I approached it looking for an audience or a relationship I would be disappointed all the time.
