I am curious how a Singapore VC got the chance to head a troubled Intel?

Wouldn't it have made more sense for them to have hired an operator with experience running a multi-billion dollar company?

Might have been his forty years in the US semiconductor business, could have been his ten years as a CEO of Cadence Design Systems, a company in the low (single digit) multi billions.

This may have carried weight:
