Show HN: Gemlink.app – A Social-First Pocket Alternative to Save and Share Web

https://gemlink.app/
1•wainguo•6mo ago
With Pocket shutting down, I wanted to share Gemlink.app (https://gemlink.app/), a new tool I’ve built to fill the gap and take content collection to the next level. Gemlink is like “Twitter meets Pocket” — a platform where you can save articles, videos, or links with one click via a browser extension and share them with a community of curators.

What It Does

Instant Saving: Our browser extension lets you save any web content (articles, videos, links) as easily as posting a tweet. No fuss, just click and save.

Social Layer: Unlike Pocket’s solo reading lists, Gemlink lets you share your curated content, follow others, and discover what’s trending in your niche (e.g., integrated with X posts for real-time topics).

Organization: Organizes your saves with collections.

Why I Built It

Pocket was great for saving articles, but it lacked social engagement and modern features. Inspired by X user complaints about bookmark overload and content chaos (e.g., inefficient saving tools), I built Gemlink to make web collection fast, social, and smart.

Visit https://gemlink.app/ to sign up and install the extension.

Save a link, share a collection, or explore trendings

Feedback welcome! I’m looking for beta testers and ideas to make Gemlink even better.

Future Plans

Add AI-powered summarization and personalized recommendations.

More deeply trend curation.

Let me know what you think, HN! Would love your thoughts on features, UX, or even contributing to the project. If you’ve been missing Pocket, give Gemlink a spin and tell me how it stacks up.
