AI generated nonsense full of delves and em dashes.
Zee2•5mo ago
Yeah. I’m sure the technical content is great but the AI style is overwhelmingly distracting.
perching_aix•5mo ago
I found it pleasant to read, and it really doesn't seem to be nonsensical. There were also no em dashes that I could find (0 hits for —).
nneonneo•5mo ago
It’s very verbose and provides very little new information. It can be summarized simply as “the driver zeros out the page table entry for pages in the Guarded Region”.

The comments are largely useless. “Shifting the PML4E index by 39”? Yes, I can tell that from the code - but why 39? What’s the meaning of that shift? That’s what I’d want to know - but this goes unanswered. There are a lot more examples like this.

There’s also a lot of weird flattery that goes into the post. “This is an ingenious solution that demonstrates the level of innovation and dedication that goes into developing an effective anti-cheat system like Vanguard.”?? It’s literally just textbook PTE manipulation; anyone remotely familiar with x86 paging will recognize what’s happening and would not consider it “innovative”.

On the whole, this is a low-quality post. Go have a look at the posts on e.g. secret.club for examples of far better technical writing.
