Ask HN: Is there an AI that can read code aloud and explain it?

I've come across plenty of AI text-to-speech tools, but none of them seem to handle code properly. They just read it out like plain text without considering the language syntax or structure. I'm looking for something that can actually read code in a way that makes sense, maybe even with some context-aware pacing or emphasis. Has anyone seen anything like this?

Is there a human? I've been programming forever and I even teach classes to students on how to program and I don't ever really "read code aloud"... I understand someone who is blind would need this, but I'd expect that you'd end up with something extremely unlike what most people would find at all intuitive were they not to spend a lot of time trying to train up in such a tool?

I wrote explain o matic for this, it's an open source vscode extension. It creates sections of code and uses your os tts. It allows you to break down sections further as well. With a bit more work on my end could be quite a potent tool.
