At the start of the internet age, say 30-50 years ago, there was lotsa optimism about internet and web tools being mechanisms for democracy, leading to decentralization of power. Today the internet is dominated by big tech companies, who jealously guard their power and vacuum up our personal data. The early vision of the internet feels pretty naive.
Seems like a similar pattern is occurring with crypto.
