Ask HN: Where to get feedback on my first dev project?

1•quantdev1•5mo ago
I just open-sourced my first project - and was hoping to get feedback around specific questions I had.

Are there any recommended places to do this in a crowd-sourced or one on one environment?

Note: I posted it as a Show HN this morning - but it got buried within minutes. Didn’t want to get flagged by re-posting.

Submit it to the people whom you are targeting with your project. Explain them why your tool is better/different than the existing tools, or what kind of (so far) unsolved problem it solves, and then just sit and wait for the girls to fight for your number.

According to the guidelines, a few reposts are ok. Wait a few days and try again. Then wait a few days and try again. And then move on. There are no hard rules, but I don't expect anyone to get mad for 2 or 3 tries.

You can try with another project or a blog post.

I feel it's weird to make a project about a topic you don't know. It may be better to make a project about a topic you understand well and can give more feedback to the AI and verify it's correct. But doing only things you know is boring, some exploration is fun and interesting. Don't stop trying new things.

Hard to know until you try a few projects.
