Keep in mind, when the US moved jobs (read: manufacturing) offshore, the associated emissions (and other pollutants) went offshore as well.
In the name of accuracy and transparency, the totals for what the USA is doing within its borders should be supplemented with the emissions from manufacturing what it consumes that’s imported.
