Feedback on Masterit.ai – AI Interview Platform

1•masteritai•2h ago
Hi HN,

I’m exploring an idea: Masterit.ai, an AI-powered interview platform that lets candidates use AI tools (like Copilot/ChatGPT) during technical assessments, while still ensuring fairness and evaluability.

The problem:

Current coding tests often feel artificial—no access to real tools.

Hiring managers want to know how candidates solve problems, not just if they get the “right” answer.

With AI assistants now part of daily engineering workflows, excluding them from interviews feels outdated.

Our approach:

Embed an AI coding assistant inside the interview IDE.

Capture the entire problem-solving journey (queries, prompts, iterations).

Provide hiring managers with structured insights into candidate collaboration, prompting, and critical thinking.

I’d love HN’s feedback on:

Do you see value in assessing AI collaboration skills during interviews?

If you’ve done technical hiring, what’s missing from current platforms like Codility, HackerRank, or CoderPad?

Would companies adopt this, or is there still hesitation about “AI in interviews”?

Any thoughts (or tough critiques) would be hugely helpful at this stage.

Thanks!
