US Marshalls asked to safeguard Maryland data center survey crews

This is absurd. Why should federal officials be used to provide corporations with security they can pay for? Especially when these crews are entering private property without consent of the owner, per the article!

But on a more basic level, many communities near data centers have reported impact to the quality of their water supply, noise pollution that makes it hard to sleep, and of course a massive change to their environment with a giant eyesore of a building ruining green landscapes. Something has to change. Tech companies can’t just violate people and communities for their gains.
