Musk fixed what wasn't broken by eliminating them.
Now just return essential data (like speed) to the center of the dash so it can be easily viewed without taking your eyes off the road. This could be done with a small digital display at minimal cost.
Putting everything on one big touchscreen bolted to the center of the dash wasn't innovative --- it was just dumb.
Thankfully most other manufacturers have properly recognized it
as such and not followed suit.
