Ponder: An AI-powered mobile app for self-reflection

Hey HN,

I’m the Founder and CEO of Ponder, an AI-assisted journaling and reflection app that helps people make sense of their thoughts without the blank-page problem.

The app suggests prompts based on your past entries, identifies recurring themes, and gives gentle feedback to help you reflect more deeply. It’s private by design (your writing isn’t used for ads or training outside your account) and intended as a personal companion rather than a replacement for therapy.

This project is personal: I’ve seen how overwhelming life can get, and journaling often feels harder than it should. I wanted to build something that makes reflection feel effortless, structured, and rewarding.

Would love feedback from this community on:

How do you journal (if you do)?

What’s missing in most journaling/wellness tools you’ve tried?

How do you think AI fits (or doesn’t) in this space?

We also launched on ProductHunt today if you'd like to see us there!

Happy to answer questions or share more about the technical side (React Native + Django/DRF backend + GPT-4.1 for AI).
