The cruelty isn't just the means; it's the end.

As I've often said, BIG people lift others up. SMALL people try to cut others down to their level.

toomuchtodo•5mo ago
All cruelty springs from weakness. We are collectively experiencing the outcome of weak people obtaining power. The remaining work is to disempower them if you want to make empathy and compassion great again.
techpineapple•5mo ago
Do most border crossings happen during the day? Also - does black painted metal get significantly hotter than raw metal? Couldn’t the black paint act as an insulator and actually hold and release the heat itself?

Also does it heat to a higher level or just speed up the rate of heating?

I remember reading that crews paint the Golden Gate Bridge from one end to the other, and by the time they get to the end they have to start over again.

That's a 1.7 mile bridge and this is a 650+ mile wall, which will continue to increase in length. So this indicates that they will need 300+ full-time paint crews working continuously to keep the wall black. Unfortunately, painting a hot surface in direct sunlight is really not good for the paint. The crews are going to need to wait until the sun goes down and the wall cools off enough to be able to receive the paint, and it needs to dry before the wall gets too hot again. So realistically you've got a window of maybe 3AM-4AM where you can paint and expect the paint to last more than a week or two. I don't see how you could do this without 1000 paint crews, and if you're going to put that many people along the wall, you might as well give them binoculars, radios, and handcuffs instead of paint brushes.
