To me smart glasses aren't nerdy so much as the ultimate douchbag symbol. This was true from the beginning of google glass. Wasn't "glasshole" a term?

Unless mine is a niche view, that's going to be what they need to overcome before really getting mainstream, regardless of other problems. I don't think designer glasses helps this, it almost makes it worse. They need a campaign making them seem useful and non-douchy, unless there is just a big enough bro-market that doesn't care.
