This reminds me of the guy who implanted magnets in his fingertips to pick up metal stuff. Apparently a side effect of this was that they would vibrate when near some electromagnetic fields, giving him the ability to sense them. I don't think it gave him the ability to feel what magnetic fields feel like really, just learned what vibrating magnets feel like when near them.
