For a certain cohort of British people, an event with Blair is by definition a waste of time. The man is perceived as interested in one thing: his own relevance. He suffers from relevance deprivation syndrome.
Do you really think he has some magical insight into achievable goals? Does he have any non-self-defined functionality role?
People of real substance in international affairs keep out of the limelight. Or, retire gracefully. Blair is unwilling to admit he has no more capability here, points of input beyond his own musings, than anyone else. All he's got is glitter. There's nothing of substance that I can understand.
He ceased to be the UN middle east envoy in 2015. Ten year old knowledge and experience. The world is very different in that region.
