I don’t like picking winners and losers but to some extent the government always has had influence. This is just a higher degree of involvement and maybe it is necessary for national security reasons to compete with countries that have many state owned companies and industries with huge capital behind them.

A very gentile way to describe capitalism under a fascist system, where corporate leaders come to fear state retribution, arrest, or worse, for failing to play along with the regime.

Um, how does the author not even consider the type of capitalism in US today as Oligarchic Capitalism? These analysts hold their relevance in this declining system just by refusing to acknowledge what it is.
