What are the best resources to learn about FDE role?

I've been reading YC materials and I'm curious about Forward Deployed Engineers (FDE).

Specifically interested in: - How early stage (pre-seed or seed) startups are doing this? - Detailed experiences of being an FDE. - Other detailed accounts from FDEs or founders deploying FDEs

I get the gist, but I have not found good resources about the details (and it feels like the devil is in the details here).
