Based on some .. personal studies...it does work to reduce anxiety... but its not a long term solution and can't replace any existing medication

You get up to 3 months or so of reduced anxiety and increased sense of well-being and "interconnectedness". It has to be a full-on psychedelic episode though, micro-dosing doesn't seem to have the same effect (or much of any effect beyond placebo in my experience). ~6 hours of intensity is a bit steep, especially if you've got real baggage that's going to surface.

Well, sometimes it's better to not be able to escape as quickly and actually have to accept and deal with it head on. At least for me personally.

Calling psychedelics and “escape” is debatable. While you do leave reality, the alternative reality you enter is often difficult, uncomfortable, and challenging, at least in my experience.
Psychedelics are an escape in the same way a workout or a long hike is an escape. I see this as different to the escape you get from opioids or alcohol.
Your point still stands that you need to address your problems eventually.

Different for me.
I get reduced anxiety only for the afterglow the day after. No feelings of interconnectedness (that went away as I grew older)
Microdosing has allowed me to reduce anxiety daily for a little longer, even with tolerance but overall I wouldn't take it long term.
Cutting out coffee has a better effect reducing it than psychedelics for me and maybe the microdosing effect was due to me replacing coffee with it...
What really helped me with anxiety was NAC. Antioxidants are great.
