I don’t understand how the kind of “power user” that’s looking for an advanced terminal app could care so little about what goes on under the hood that they’re ok with a terminal emulator that depends on an entire browser engine.

Might as well have the browser be the build target for this project. It has all of the right building blocks and seems like it could fit that need well provided it had some sort of authentication to keep intruders out.
