Peak phone design, in my opinion, would be the BlackBerry Classic. My ideal phone would be that design + an OS that's fully open-source, optimized for the format, which has no more baked-in online services than OS updates, and a simple app store with a decentralized system similar to Flatpak. I'd also prefer it'd be fully repairable.
I feel like BlackBerry could still be very relevant if they went this way. So many people are dissatisfied with today's smartphones lack of privacy & user freedom, and I can't be the only one who prefers my phone's design to prioritize communication over entertainment.
