Show HN: I made SDK for collecting visual feedback – open-source, self-hostable

https://roastnest.com
7•satyamskillz•4mo ago
Hi All,

I’ve been working on an open-source SDK to make collecting user feedback on your website less painful. Instead of wasting time on building your own feedback system and boring forms, my SDK lets users leave feedback directly on your website—with all the context devs actually need.

Here’s what it currently does: Users can select any element on the page Auto-captures logs, metadata & screenshots Sends instant notifications (Slack, Discord, etc.) Lets you reward users → boosts engagement & conversions Gives users a tracking link → builds accountability & trust Self-host + customize the widget (work in progress)

My bigger goal is to automate the feedback loop: 1. Collect feedback 2. Reward users 3. Follow up with them 4. Provide devs with full context 5. (eventually) even suggest solutions

ASK: Please try the tool, contribute or give me feedback.

This looks really useful! I like that it captures context automatically (screenshots, logs, etc.)—saves a ton of back-and-forth. A quick demo on the site would help show how the widget feels in action. Excited to see where you take the reward + follow-up loop.

We are presently using this SDK in our frontend repo and it works fab! Previously whenever we needed to fix ui bugs , we were required to take screenshot and then write some lengthy message on jira along with snap. This SDK made it a 2 clicks job - catch image and roast! Really loving it so far!!
