Last week I launched Code Jabba, a job board for software engineers that lets you filter jobs with over 15 filters including coding language, seniority level, position type ( frontend / backend / fullstack / etc. ), salary and a dozen more.
While I was building Code Jabba I realized it would face the marketplace problem ( chicken and egg problem ), where candidates would only use the site if there were recruiters posting jobs, recruiters would only use the site if there were candidates applying to jobs, and the site begins with neither.
I decided that it would be easiest to attract candidates to the site initially, so I found a job aggregator API that lets me post jobs sourced from linkedin and glassdoor onto my site. For 30 dollars a month, I can post up to 300 jobs a day. Even though I don't have recruiters posting jobs on the site yet, I have a large pool of job posts candidates can apply to, thereby solving the marketplace problem I faced when building Code Jabba.
