My first macOS app.
Or: Speedrun a MacOS App in 24 hours with no experience on Swift + Making the landing page and everything.
I rebuilt the "old" launchpad from macos for MacOS Tahoe 26 with some personal touch.
What's working
- CMD + Shift + Space to Open/Close
- Setting custom hotkey
- Esc to Close
- Drag and Drop to reorder apps
- Open Apps
- Folders
- Search
Not bad. Some suggestions:
- make it behave more like the original Launchpad (e.g. click on empty space makes it disappear)
- make number of columns adjustable
- make font and icon size adjustable
- I should be able to go back from a folder with a swipe or the back mouse button
- I should be able to select multiple shortcuts (e.g. by holding CMD) and move them to a folder
But, this is already better than what Apple gave us as a replacement for Launchpad, thanks! Will you add it to Homebrew?
