My Operator's Manual: How I Work and Why You Should Write Your Own

One trend I’ve noticed again and again: when projects fail, it’s rarely the tech. Human problems are almost always harder than technical problems.

That’s why I ended up writing what I call an “Operator’s Manual” basically a handbook for how I work, make decisions, and collaborate. It’s not about telling other people what to do, but about making the hidden rules explicit so teammates don’t waste energy guessing.

Because every system runs better with documentation. We write docs for code and infrastructure, but rarely for ourselves. Yet people are the most complex systems we work with.

I finally published my own Operator’s Manual, along with a framework so others can write their own. Curious if anyone here has tried something similar, or if you’d find this useful on your teams.
